A Bit About aDEN
I grew up in the Hunter Valley, very active playing sport every afternoon it was either swimming, rugby league, touch footy or riding mountain bikes. My fascination with a mechanical mindset lead me into the mining industry where I completed my apprenticeship as a heavy vehicle plant mechanic working all open cut mining machinery. Following the apprenticeship my career in mining went on for another 6 and a half years, ide say most of that time not satisfied within myself or my career. I never had to confidence to take a leap. The golden handcuffs as they say.
With all of the sports I was playing plus all of the horrible positions I was in at work trying to get to certain spots on the machines lead to me being tight, sore, lacking flexibility and range of motion, but also chronic head aches. I myself started seeking advice and going through the list of holistic and even the medication route to try help myself. I found that massage by far stood out the most for me. I knew that once I had my massage ide be set to go do what my body needed to do for a certain amount of time. The body in school always fascinated me, I wanted to be a physiotherapist in school but wasn’t able to sit in a classroom setting, hence the leaving school and getting a job. 5 years of umming and arghing about wanting to do my diploma in Remedial Massage I finally had enough of my job quit on the spot, paid for the diploma and my journey begun.
My massage journey started in early 2020 where I completed my Diploma with a remedial massage college but while studying the diploma I was doing extra courses learning as much as I can before I announced to the public that I was massaging. So between working a full time job studying, doing extra courses and massaging where I could I was going 7 days a week to make this dream come alive.
3 years into my new career, and I have never been happier, I would say with my hand on my heart that I have not worked a day since quitting the mines, helping the community whilst having a laugh but being someone that can listen to a client has come naturally and I love it. I would describe my approach as thorough, I like to find out why the issue is presenting.
What I have strived for from day dot is not wanting to be the best but just do my best, stay humble in my words and approach and grateful with my thoughts, this had lead to me being able to grow a fully functioning business and have multiple locations being able to help more and more of the Newcastle, port stephens and upper hunter communities.
